Verdict

Cases can be made for a number of these as the likes of He Who Dares Wins, Pay The Silver and Rainstorm all hail from yards that do well in races of this nature, but preference is for Parnassian, who is in flying form at present. The only doubt about the selection would be his tendency to tag along in behind in the early stages which has sometimes left him with a little too much to do. However, this course is notoriously hard to predict with regard to the tactics employed and the Sabrehill gelding may find the race unfolds to suit his strengths if they go off too fast from the start. A saver on He Who Dares Wins is also recommended as he also comes into the race with a rock-solid profile in the context of this race. However, he has never yet won beyond a mile and his profile suggests he will be at the end of his tether when they come up the hill to the finish. Therefore, Parnassian is factored in as the main selection as he usually finishes his races with a flourish and has no doubts about his stamina tonight.
