In depth

Verdict

The consistent Contact Dancer is bound to be popular with backers but Peter Bowen's gelding keeps on finding at least one to good and he may have to settle for minor honours again, with preference for Mith Hill who gets the vote over The Sawyer. The last mentioned has shown gradual improvement since being put over fences this term and has to be respected, especially with Bob Buckler's team in good form at present. Mister Potter is bred to be useful being out of a half-sister to Denman but he has yet to show a liking for fences, while Dancing Rock is hard to recommend having been pulled up on his recent reappearance. Highland Games looks to be going the right way but needs to improve to get the better of Mith Hill, who was the pick of these over hurdles and may be worth another chance over fences today, having been well held on his chasing debut last month.
