In depth

Verdict

Best Alibi drops in class and is preferred to Yasoodd and Zayn Zen. Third in this year's Irish Derby, Best Alibi confirmed the positive impression given in the Epsom equivalent and this drop down to Group 2 should prove a confidence boosting filip to the Sir Michael Stoute charge. Yasoodd was sixth in the St James' Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. The handicapper has him 8lb inferior to Best Alibi so improvement would need to come from somewhere. Zayn Zen was scheduled to head to paddocks last year but her racecourse performances have warranted a rethink. She finished four lengths behind Soviet Sing on her latest start but more is needed against the colts. Hattan was well beaten in the Coral Eclipse and faces another uphill task in this company. Crocodile Dundee won a Group 3 when with Jamie Poulton and makes a return for Luca Cumani following a two year absence from the track. Best Alibi has the classic form on offer and we believe that he can uphold it on Saturday.
