In depth

Verdict

Virtuosity created a favourable impression when making a winning debut in a Pontefract maiden earlier this month but Sir Michael Stoute's filly can hardly be considered to be well treated judged by that effort with the odds on Greek Easter having run well below par that day so a safer bet looks to be the progressive Starship, who is preferred to Mistress Twister. The last mentioned has done little wrong of late having won three of her four starts this term, latterly when landing a Hamilton handicap. Today's longer trip should not pose a problem to David Barron's mare but is should be of great assistance to Starship, who has been in similarly good form over a mile but is bred to come into her own over this sort of a distance. Kahlua Kiss and Flying Clarets would both have claims but it is hard to see either of them being good enough to get the better of Starship, who is taken to win again.
