In depth

Verdict

A poor contest filled with disappointing types to finish the evening at the seaside track, with the likes of Hakam, a long standing maiden, Fast And Neat, a wide margin winner at Nottingham, Rosewings, and course and distance winner Misternando, but the vote goes to Kaiser, who is taken to complete a treble on the night for James Fanshaw. Kaiser, who wore a visor for the first time at Leicester, shaped as though he would appreciate a step up in trip, when a staying on into fourth place, in what wasn't a strongly run race. This trip should suit him much better and he is taken to see of his rivals. Hakim has more ability than he cares to show, while Fast And Neat may be flattered by his success at Nottingham, where he had a soft lead throughout. Rosewings must have every chance of reversing recent course form with Misternando on these terms, but the form of Kaiser's run at Leicester is the best form on offer and he is taken to lose his maiden tag.
