Verdict

In recent meetings when the stalls have been on the stands' side, the races have tended to unfold up the centre of the track, but now the stalls are switched to the far side, it remains to be seen whether they will again opt to race up the middle of the course. Probably not a strong maiden, despite some of the bigger yards turning out. Surely Tribute is better than he showed on his debut, he, along with Leicester third Menfee are sure to have plenty of support, but a chance is taken with newcomer Arazole, who is from the same family as stablemate, Royal Hunt Cup winner Macadamia. A January foal, he clearly hasn't been rushed and he comes here in preference to taking in other entries later in the week. The stable had their first two-year-old runner of the season at Windsor on Monday and he wasn't disgraced in finishing second. Their juveniles are clearly in good order and the hint should be taken. Menfee will be no pushover. Out of a mare that won the Ayr Gold Cup, he doesn't lack pace and already proven on a fast surface, he looks sure to go close. Tribute, from the same family as the high-class juvenile Zipping, didn't exactly catch the eye on his debut, but is sure to be wiser this time. However, Arazole probably wouldn't have to be anything out of the ordinary to land this and is worth taking a chance with.
