In depth

Verdict

Turn Around goes unpenalised for his win over course and distance in selling company last month but this looks tougher and preference is for Marabar, who is preferred to Kanz Wood. The last mentioned is a consistent performer trained by Tony Carroll but is arguably better over a mile. Super Dominion is on a fair mark but is another probably better served by a greater test of stamina and a bigger threat may come from Gilly's General, who has slipped to a fair mark and comes here on the back of a win in a Banded stakes race over course and distance last time. The handicapper has given Carlton a chance and, along with Andrew Reid's Bulawayo, he is another worthy of a mention. However, Marabar looks well treated on his best form, has been improved on the all-weather of late and represents a stable in good heart at present. Marabar gets the vote.
