In depth

Verdict

Colin Tinkler has already visited the winner's enclosure since rejoining the training ranks and can do so again with Supreme Dawn, who is selected over Heron's Ghyll, Castleford and You Owe Me. Supreme Dawn ran a very encouraging race on his first start for the stable at Warwick, when beaten in a photo by the much more fancied Kercabellec. That was on his debut over timber, and he can only improve. Heron's Ghyll was put firmly in his place by the highly-rated Dempsey at Folkestone and in that respect is a similar sort to the selection, so can progress this term. Castleford was sent Ascot for his timber bow but the three-mile trip seemed to find him out. This less exacting journey should see him figure, while You Owe Me was a promising third on his Haydock debut, despite clouting the final flight. His stable has been a revelation all season and he is another for the short-list. However, we have to draw the line somewhere, so we return to Supreme Dawn as the answer.
