In depth

Verdict

Nathos could be the one here, with Red Lion, Dancer Life, My Line and Nowator looking the best of the rest. The selection dropped back from two-and-a-half miles to score at the second time of asking last time, and can continue to progress. Spring Pursuit was beaten an easy eight lengths by the selection at Uttoxter but is now 12 pounds better off (excluding Nathos's rider's seven-pound claim). Dancer Life looked progressive when winning at Huntingdon and, in a modest affair, has to be given a lot of respect. Mary Reveley sends her Carlisle winner My Line down from the north east and the six-year-old gelding should give a good account of himself. Six Of One won on the Flat over 13 furlongs in France in 2002, but has shown little over hurdles. Nowator comes into things on the basis of his fourth to subsequent winner Kadount at Haydock, while Red Lion, who won Epsom's Amateur Derby in 2002, has not been given a bad mark for his handicap debut when you look at the best of his form. He could give the selection, which is Nathos, the most to do.
