Verdict

A good contest this, with a number of progressive types in with chances. Intercession heads the weights. She has not progressed from an eyecatching first run this season and now steps up in trip. Theatre Time won in very easy fashion at Redcar on his seasonal return and a mark of 85 on his handicap bow is not excessive. He should go well. La Muette scrambled home in a Windsor maiden last October, but the first two pulled clear of the third. That race has produced a couple of winners but, being a little hard to assess, others are favoured over her. Ayun has been raised a pound for finishing a close fourth in a Ripon handicap and has place claims, but the form of Jebal Suraaj's Musselburgh maiden win has been boosted by Namroud's Goodwood run. He has to hold chances here. Tiber clearly has chances but needs to settle better, while Gerard Butler's Treculiar is certainly open to improvement at this trip, despite the form of his AW win's form being fairly modest. Big Smoke is also stepping up in trip and the form of his close-up Kempton seventh has worked out well. Carrowdore has been a little disappointing but, at best, is not without a chance. Zero Tolerance is also progressive and comes here on the back of an easy Beverley win, making his career record two wins from five starts. Joe Bear should be suited by the trip and comes here on the back of two runs. The runner-up in his AW maiden win, Tropical Coral, has since won three times. On balance, Double Mystery has a bit to find. It's tricky but we'll take a chance with Joe Bear, particularly with Kieren Fallon booked.
