In depth

Verdict

A wide open contest gets proceedings under way and many have chances on there best form, but we will take a chance on Rescator. The gelding from the Sue Smith yard won a seller over course and distance last time out and with conditions in his favour he will be hard to beat despite his rise in the weights. Hollows Mill rates the main danger he has the experienced Gino Carenza booked and although he was well beaten behind Kidathou last time this is a much easier race and he should not be far away. Rugged Man is an Irish raider worthy of respect on his latest efforts over hurdles but he has since disappointed over fences. Vivaldi Rose is from a yard in top form and is worth a cautionary look in the market but she has become disappointing of late. Of the remainder Stanley Park has the top amateur booked and is another to keep a close eye on.
