Verdict

Having found one too good in each of his last two starts this term, Crown Agent is given one last chance to open his account for the season at the main expense of Almutasader and Sailing Through. The son of Mukaddamah found Tomina a length-and-a-quarter too good at Warwick on the first of those starts before going down by just a quarter-of-a-length to Giuliani at Windsor last time. Allowed to race off the same mark here, Andrew Balding's gelding has obvious claims under decent apprentice Liam Keniry. John Dunlop's Almutasader makes his handicap debut and, with the step up in trip expected to suit the son of Sadler's Wells, he has to be respected. The Terry Mills-trained Sailing Through has been in the prize-money on all three starts this season and has been given a chance by the handicapper, who has dropped him 2lbs since his latest start. However, this looks tougher and a bigger danger to the selection may come from Literacy. Clive Brittain's stable has made a great start to the season and, with the faster ground here expected to suit the son of Diesis, he is another to warrant respect under Frankie Dettori.
