Apple Blossom should prove too good for One Giant Leap and newcomer Straight Sets. Having finished second in a decent Yarmouth maiden, Apple Blossom was asked to contest a class 3 affair at Chester next time, and was out of her depth. Put up to a mile at Goodwood next time, she looked all over the winner with a furlong to go, but failed to last home and had to settle for second place again. Trainer Geogg Wragg has done the right thing here by dropping the filly back in trip, and she should have too much know how for her rivals. One Giant Leap picked up well once the penny dropped on her Lingfield bow, and a bit more improvement should see her figure somewhere in the finish, while newcomer Straight Sets, a half-sister to Championship Point, is rumoured to have been working well at home. Ex-French Mini Mosa is difficult to weigh up on the strength of one outing in France last autumn, and this looks best left to Apple Blossom.
