      Verdict

A competitive renewal can go to Lochbuie over Selebela, Watamu and Horner to name but three. The recent rain that has fallen in the region should boost the chance of Lochbuie who lines up in search of a hat-trick after comfortable successes at Ripon and Chester. Although he is stone higher than when gaining the first of those wins, he is a progressive sort who would have gone to Royal Ascot had the ground not been too fast. Selebela is also in great form at present but does have a five-pound penalty to overcome for an all-the way victory over the course and distance ten days ago. Watamu is expected to run a big race after just failing to get up at Goodwood in the race won by Admiral last month, and Horner may have plenty more to come after hacking up in maiden company at Warwick last time. His five-pound penalty may make his task that bit harder though. Albinus did well to overcome running wide on the home turn when making all at Ripon and cannot be ruled out entirely, while Zaffeu has more to do than when coming from behind to win narrowly at Bath. It should be an exciting contest, and we feel that Lochbuie has more to offer so he is the pick.
