In depth

Verdict

Rancho Cucamonga, Twice Nightly and Gifted Gamble are three against the field in a wide open affair and the tentative vote goes to Rancho Cucamonga. The selection was well fancied on his debut but proved ultimately disappointing. However he is sure to have learnt from the experience and with his stable now in much better form he could be the value in an open affair. Twice Nightly rates the main danger on his latest third behind Hearthstead Wings he was doing all his best work at the finish on that occasion and with this stiff course sure to suit he will not be far away. Gifted Gamble is another worthy of respect he was a fair third behind Dorn Dancer last time but he is more exposed than most and for that reason he is opposed. Holbeck Ghyll is another sure to have its supporters he was a fair sixth behind Blue Dakota at Royal Ascot last time and this represents a big drop in class but the race may come to quick after those exertions and for that reason he is opposed on this occasion. Of the remainder Ryedane improved from his debut effort to be third behind Bold Marc last time and he is another that will appreciate this stiffer track, but in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum for the winner we return to Rancho Cucamonga.
