Royal Brave finished a length ahead of FLICKA'S BOY at Catterick last month but Tony Coyle's charge was hampered on leaving the stalls and it would be no surprise if the placings were reversed here. He's also preferred to Carlisle third Oriental Relation but Margrets Gift can be forgiven her run at Nottingham, where she was squeezed out at the start, and is beginning to look well treated. Koptoon's run in the previous race should be a pointer to the chances of Ambitious Icarus, though he was not match for that one at Bath. Secret Millionaire could sneak into the frame from the foot of the weights however.
