    Verdict

Riptide won twice over this course and distance off higher marks in 2013 and hinted at a return to form last time at Nottingham, though was well behind Almost Gemini over a slightly longer trip on heavy going here in April. Kenneth Slack's versatile stayer also goes on the short-list while Knight's Parade was just beaten over 2m on Polytrack last week. Lexi's Boy would have a chance on past form but doesn't appear the force of old. Hartside was in good form over jumps in the winter and Tuscan Gold is capable on his day though Micky Hammond also runs WATERCLOCK. The latter is just a pound higher than when winning over 2m at Beverley last July and he was noted making late headway in a better race at York last month.
