In depth

Verdict

Not much to go on but the well bred Truckle looks a capable type on breeding and we will take him at the expense of The Crooked Ring and Doctor Hilary. Mark Johnston's colt is related to a number of juvenile winners over seven furlongs and while he will get further in time, there is every chance he could be good enough here. The Crooked Ring has the benefit of form in the book and is a typical David Evans type. There will be no fitness doubts on that score. Doctor Hilary is a half-brother to winning juvenile Only When I Laugh. Michael Bell has had a modest strike rate with his juveniles this term and the market is duly watched. English Fellow's dam needed it as heavy as possible to be seen at her best so connections will probably be raindancing overnight. Tyson Returns is related to some fair sprinting types and is watched in the market. Truckle gets our tentative vote.
