Verdict

A race won by Three Valleys last year and while Goodricke hasn't shown form of that caliber, he can see off opposition in the form of Dante's Diamond and Norcroft. David Loder's charge won like an odds on shot should at Leicester and should take this en route to a reported tilt at Royal Ascot. Dante's Diamond hails from a yard more associated with jumping types and while this one boasts fair Ripon form behind Word Perfect, more is required here. Norcroft is a course winner at Nottingham but floundered when upped in class last time out. I'm Spartacus faces the acid test following a proficient victory at Brighton. Kings Gait revelled on heavy at Pontefract and faces better opposition here. Goodricke gets the verdict.
