    Verdict

Only two favourites have won in 10 years and there have been a couple of shocks. John Gosden scored with a 33/1 chance in 2012 but the classy Gatewood will be a short price as he's a regular at this sort of level and landed a Group 3 at Deauville in August. However he could do with some rain and was behind the Qatar-based Dubday when the latter finished an excellent second to Telescope in a Listed event at Newbury. GOSPEL CHOIR goes unpenalised for his two Group 2 victories last May - his only runs of the campaign. There's obviously been something amiss with the Yorkshire Cup winner but his trainer will have him primed and he looks the class act in the race. The former Germany-based Firestorm doesn't quite look up to this class and though Mirsaale was beaten less than a length by Gatewood at Goodwood last May his later form was poor.
