A really good race which may go the way of Calming Influence. The selection is one of the lowest rated horses in the race but he has had only one opportunity to strut his stuff and did everything that was asked of him when winning well at York. The bare form of the race may not amount to much but the stable houses some nice three year-olds this year and he holds the requisite big race entries. Things didn't really go according to plan for Stimulation in the Guineas but this drop back in trip will suit and he had looked good when winning on his return where he had the free running Maze behind. Bobs Surprise, Red Alert Day and Shallal filled the minor places behind Paco Boy at Newbury on soft but there doesn't appear to be any obvious reason as to why the form should be reversed. Exhibition should come on for his reappearance but has a bit to find as does Tasdeer but Luck Money and Welcome Art must both be of keen interest. The former signed off for last year with a decent effort in the Dewhurst but a lack of big race entries is a little offputting which is also the case with the latter who won a Listed race at Sandown impressively on his second and latest start. Interesting stuff but we'll go with Godolphin's Calming Influence.
