Verdict

An interesting field of progressive sorts lines up with DEFENDANT taken to get Ryan Moore off to a winning start. He reverts to tackling his own generation after a solid performance against his elders last time at Doncaster behind Glen Moss. The additional furlong looks essential judged on that latest run whilst he remains on a feasible mark for his leading handler to exploit. Makafeh is being campaigned with typical Cumani patience and is expected to progress again whilst Muharrib should come on a bundle for a more than satisfactory reappearance behind Intrigo. Prince's Trust should not be ruled out either after comfortably landing a Newmarket maiden in the very late spring. He lacks the experience of some of these and that was a relatively soft race but he scored smoothly and is on a fair mark moving into handicap company for the first time.
