Verdict

Three-year-olds have a very poor strike rate in this valuable handicap so it may be worth taking on the promising King Of Jazz at the forecast SP. As usual, Dandy Nicholls is mob-handed and all three of his runners have some sort of chance. Lovelace is dropped in grade while Docofthebay has already run well in similar contests this season and Nasri will appreciate a return to the trip over which he was an excellent third at Ascot two runs ago. Crown Choice may be a few pounds too high in the weights but Manassas, Excellent Guest and Striking Spirit, who were first, second and third in a 7f handicap at Royal Ascot, should all be thereabouts again. Shamandar was held in high regard at one time and could be interesting if attracting market support but we fancy AL KHALEEJ to go close at generous odds. Lightly-raced for his age, he beat Manassas over C&D in August and a recent run at Windsor should have brought him to concert pitch for this. Bottom weight Red Gulch is also worth a second look for each-way backers.
