    Verdict

A couple of the leading ante post fancies have to conclusively prove their resilience for the unique test presented by the UltimateBet.com 1000 Guineas and the likes of Attraction and Carry On Katie may find this too taxing a demand on their stamina for horses that possess such a devastating turn of foot. Therefore, even though both are bred to get a mile, it may be more prudent to stick look elsewhere for the winner of the first fillies classic of the season. The list of alternatives includes: Majestic Desert, whose trainer, Mick Channon, thinks she could be the one to grant him his first winner in this prestigious race, while Hathrah and Secret Charm are also very much respected on the best of their form. So too is Necklace, who has to be seriously considered as the solitary runner from the Ballydoyle team this year. The daughter of Darshaan improved greatly last season and should give a good account of herself on this better ground than she encountered at Longchamp when she was last seen out. However, they may all have to concede second best to Red Bloom, who has always had this race as her target from the first time she set foot on a racecourse. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained daughter of Selkirk has already accounted for the likes of Sundrop and Spotlight from her juvenile career and is confidently expected to confirm the form today. The lack of a recent run should not be a problem for Stoute's charge as last year's winner Russian Rhythm underlined his capability in getting his fillies to the track without the assistance of a prep-run. Therefore, even though she is unlikely to be a bank-bursting price, Red Bloom is too hard to ignore as she embarks on her three-year-old campaign. The Godolphin team also have a fantastic record in this race and Carry On Katie is fancied to give them the best run for the money from their trio of acceptors this afternoon; if she gets the trip.
