In depth

Verdict

Kotsi, Melodramatic and Burn the Breeze are the trio to look at here, with Kotsi the selection. Melodramatic is held in high regard by her trainer Roger Charlton and after a promising debut at Newbury, she met a tartar in Danae, who has run well since, on her re-appearance. Subsequently, she landed the odds in convincing style at Nottingham. She remains unexposed and seems to be learning with racing and looks sure to give a good account. Burn The Breeze made all the running to score over this course and distance on her seasonal debut, before trying to do the same over a quarter of a mile further at Chester. She finished third there in a good handicap and back to her winning distance, she can go well. Kotsi took her Newmarket maiden in good style last season, and she ran very well to be placed in Group company subsequently. She was second in a Listed race at Ascot on her re-appearance, and normal improvement from that run entitles Kotsi to take this.
