      In depth

      Verdict

Doctor Robert, Rich Kid and Palmerin make the shortlist here, with the consistent Rich Kid set to gain reward for some solid efforts. A winner and runner-up as a two-year-old, Palmerin has failed to make much impression in handicaps this term, but he has dropped to a handy mark, and this is a race where few of the runners are in form. Hailing from the Richard Hannon yard he is respected. Doctor Robert is still a maiden despite a string of solid efforts as a juvenile. He led last time before fading and this step back in trip looks ideal and he can play a leading role. A winner at Leicester on fast ground as a juvenile, Rich Kid has run well on each of his three starts this term, not beaten far on each occasion. He boasts the best form in the race and Rich Kid can pick up a much deserved win.
