Verdict

High numbers have had the call in the past few years and Burnt Sugar was drawn 12 when successful last year. However, the ground has rarely been as fast as this so stall one may not be such an inconvenience though a 10lb rise after beating huge fields at Newmarket and Ascot appeared to stop him in his tracks at Goodwood. Fellow UK raider Safe Voyage has won both starts this year, including a premier handicap at the Galway festival where he was brought with a late run by Sean Davis to lead close home. He's only up 2lb so it will be a surprise if he isn't involved again though Turbine, who finished a close third and was staying on strongly, looks value for a place again as he's since finished a good third behind Kenya at the Curragh. Katiymann finished second in that latter race and is another likely to get into contention though he was only fourth behind FULL MOON at the Curragh earlier and the Ballydoyle colt, who won in very convincing fashion, is handed the vote in a very competitive finale in which David O'Meara's Escobar is another with claims.
