Verdict

MEZOGIORNO won a fast-ground handicap over the track and trip last summer and was having her first start since September when a very close third at Dundalk last month. That should have brought her on enough to gain her second victory on the course. Beat The Ballot is better on the all-weather and the lightly-raced Witty Repartee is an unknown in fast conditions, though she's a progressive type who doesn't look badly treated. Manorov's last eight runs - including one victory - have been at Dundalk but there's no doubt he's improved since he ran on Turf while Lady Ranger stepped up to 7f at Cork and ran her best race for a long time, though she has another furlong to travel here. Chatterton has had 11 starts on Turf and been placed just once. He has a much better record at Dundalk where he won last month though he's now 6lb higher.
