Verdict

Jewel Of India can be another winner for Richard Johnson and Philip Hobbs. A five-timer winner on the Flat at up to a mile - mainly on the all-weather - he has made a respectable start to his jumping career and, if he is to win a race in this sphere, then today ought to be the day. The caveat offered up is that he might struggle to fully see out two miles over jumps. This tight track and quicker ground will help in that respect, but don't expect him to be produced too early. Turning to the others, After showing promise on the Flat in 2000, Breeze Home's form has fallen apart and he has clearly had training problems. Investment Force won over a mile at Pontefract last month and, hailing from the Charlie Mann stable, has to be respected. Like that one, Summer Stock is making his jumping debut and bits of form around 10 furlongs mean that he cannot be dismissed from calculations. Borora showed a modicum of Flat promise on the odd occasion but fell in his hurdling debut. Donegal Shore has looked modest over jumps so far, but Holly Rose, also making her debut over hurdles, ran well in a 10-furlong Lingfield handicap last time. Magic Trick made some late headway on her hurdling debut but, overall, it's very hard to get away Jewel Of India.
