Verdict

The very useful Unaccompanied won this at long odds-on for Dermot Weld a year ago and his FORGOTTEN RULES will be a strong contender after his demolition job in a Punchestown bumper in April. He's obviously been saved for this and looks a horse we'll be hearing a lot more about. Festive Cheer would be the obvious choice on his close third to Trading Leather in last year's Irish Derby but he's been beaten a long way in both subsequent starts. However, connections must still have faith in him as he's entered in several Group races including the Irish St Leger and the market could prove a reliable guide to his chances. Shu Lewis, runner-up to Missunited in a Listed event at Leopardstown when Sir Ector was beaten a long way, is a very smart mare on her day so the principals will need to be at their best.
