Verdict

Pacha Du Polder has started at 16/1 and 25/1 in winning this in the last two years. He looked in need of the outing on his reappearance behind ROAD TO ROME at Haydock and ran accordingly but better is expected back here. The latter is on a real roll, however, and still unbeaten for Joe O’Shea. He handled those stiff fences will aplomb at Haydock and that gives hope that he’ll handle these obstacles. Enda Bolger sends over Stand Up And Fight with Derek O’Connor doing the steering and he is young enough to find the improvement necessary to figure whereas Ucello Conti is in the veteran stage now and looks held on collateral form. Shantou Flyer goes well here so warrants respect and Just Cause and Some Are Lucky could run well at bigger odds. Balnaslow has run respectably in the last two renewals but looks to be on the downgrade with last year’s fifth Caid Du Berlais and the in-form Hazel Hill making more appeal.
