Verdict

Not too many of these can be given a realistic chance and the vote goes to Concubine, who has run up to her handicap mark of late and gets the vote over Marshallspark and College Rock. The last mentioned has run well enough in his last two starts in handicap here at Brighton and has to be respected, while Marshallspark has solid claims on the form shown when second at Carlisle in May. However, that was over six furlongs and Richard Fahey's gelding has yet to prove his effectiveness over today's trip. With the likes of Sussex Lad and The Gay Fox making limited appeal among the remainder, the vote goes to Concubine. The daughter of Danehill has run up to her handicap mark on each of her last three starts and a reproduction of recent form should suffice.
