        Verdict

        The three-year-old Pomme De Terre took advantage of quicker ground to lose his maiden tag at Redcar and there should be more to come. Blue Sonic, one of five Linda Perratt entries, completed a hat-trick of track victories on ground with some give before finding Class 3 company far too hot. She'll be more at home at this level though some rain would aid her cause. Saxonette, also from the Perratt yard, escapes a penalty for her victory at Musselburgh on Sunday and should go well while Pettochside has completed a double at Goodwood in the past few weeks, though both victories were on soft going so she's another who would appreciate some rain. Circuitous has dropped in the ratings and is finding his form but the vote goes to ANCIENT CROSS (NAP), who hasn't won since landing the Silver Cup here two years ago but who has been operating at a higher level and been dropped to a winnable mark.
