In depth

Verdict

Saviour Sand can land the finale at the expense of Novikov, Axiom and Derricks Dotty, with newcomer Insiyabbi worth noting. David Elsworth has struck form in the past few days, and hopes are high that Saviour Sand can add to the haul. The move to Newmarket seems to have worked wonders for the team, and Saviour Sand shaped well in defeat last time when second to the highly-rated Jaleela on his Turf debut at heaquarters three weeks ago. As long as he handles the ground today, a big run is on the cards. Novikov has nearly two-lengths to find with the selection, but should not be too far away either, although equally he has a bit to find with Axiom on earlier Newmarket running. Derricks Dotty never looked like making a race of it with the long odds-on Costume at Ripon, but is entitled to come on for the run, while Insiyabbi hails from a top yard and should be noted in the market on his debut. Saviour Sand has experience to call on and should make that count.
