In depth

Verdict

Basaata, Docofthebay and Royal Rationale are the three to take seriously here, with Basaata taken to make a winning re-appearance and go on to better things. Docofthebay is the epitome of consistency but is a difficult ride, needing to be produced close home. He was narrowly beaten at Nottingham on Wednesday and looks set to hit the frame again. After a non-descript two year old campaign, Royal Rationale left that form behind this season, when opening up with a promising second at Wolverhampton, before scoring in comfortable fashion at Lingfield last time. He must go well. Basaata ran well on her debut at Newbury to be a close third and then lost her maiden tag at Lingfield next time. That win came in December so her fitness has to be taken on trust, but she looks to have a touch of class and can take this en route to better things.
