    Verdict

There very little to split these on the official ratings and this is an intriguing little race despite the lack of numbers. However, Bury St Edmunds arrives here open to any amount of improvement and can call time on the wining run of Beneventa if she builds on her maiden victory at Newbury from earlier in the month. James Fanshawe's charge showed a very useful turn of foot to get the better of the well regarded Manama Rose on that occasion and relished the test of stamina as the pace provided her with. The daughter of Swain looks to be a very useful sort and will be hard to beat if she draws the sting out of Beneventa, who has done little wrong but has yet to be tested in a truly-run race from start to finish. Putra Kuantan appears to be ground dependant and should find the surface much to his liking. But he too may find Bury St Edmunds too tough a customer to deal with today.
