Verdict

In what could turn out to be an informative race, newcomer Dubois may keep up the impressive juvenile record of David Loder, with Eden Rock, Graham Island and Royal Prince best of those to have raced so far. Loder has a phenomenal strike-rate with his youngsters this season, and the Sheikh Mohammed-owned Dubois has by all a accounts been working well enough at home to warrant an interest first time out. The son of Sadler's Wells out of the useful Dazzle has entries in the Royal Lodge, Dewhurst and Racing Post Trophy, and will have to impress to keep those sort of engagements. With Frankie Dettori on board, he will be a popular choice. Royal Prince had the aid of the 'Monty Roberts' rug when sent to Lingfield's Polytrack for her debut. She made good headway to finish third and will benefit from the step up in trip here, without quite being good enough. Sir Michael Stoute and Pat Eddery team up with Dewhurst entry Eden Rock who lined up at Newbury with a big reputation. Sixth to Mukafeh, the son of Danehill has Selkirk in his make up on the dam's side and so might need slightly easier ground than he will find here. Graham Island has the assistance of Kieren Fallon, and should come on for his quiet introduction at Newmarket, while Ed Dunlop, who won this 12 months ago with Suhood, is double-handed with Artisticimpression and True Patriot. The market may prove the best guide to their respective chances, but if reports from the gallops are correct, the one they all have to beat is Dubois, who can score first time before going on to better things.
