      Verdict

Hasayis can make fitness tell over New York, with River of Babylon and Aesculus others to note. Hasaysis returned to the fray with a hard earned success at Warwick last month-harder than it should have been as she jinked to her right near the finish and only managed to hang on narrowly. John Dunlop's filly had been tried over sprint trips last year, so maybe it was a combination of the extra distance and the fact that she got tired in the closing stages that contributed to her performance. She won though, that is the main thing, and should strip fitter now. New York posted three fair efforts last term and should win a race, but may need this today, and a bigger danger may be River of Babylon who went down narrowly on her return at Warwick. That was not the best of maidens, but she will be that bit sharper and can take a hand in the finish. Aesculus needed her comeback run at Leicester and the drop back in trip should be in her favour, so she is another to conjure with. With recent winning form to her credit though, Hasayis is the one to be on.
