In depth

Verdict

Lustre Lad belied odds of 80/1 when a creditable second over a similar trip at Exeter on his handicap debut last month and is taken to one better today with the main threats looking to be Devon Blue and Clova Star. The last mentioned ran better at Worcester last time and has claims on that evidence but he may prefer a softer surface so is probably best left out of calculations unless the rain arrives. Or Sing About goes on any ground but needs to improve on all known form to trouble the judge, while Ossmann looks to be going the right way but may be a shade high in the weights. Devon Blue is closely matched with Clova Star on running last time and is another worthy of a mention but Lustre Lad looks the percentage call and he is preferred.
