In depth

Verdict

A small field and a case can be made for all but VALE OF KENT already has a verdict over Jazirat, having beaten the Godolphin contender over this trip last month. The Kodiac gelding is taken to confirm the form as he is now 6lb better off with that rival, who has since gone on to score comfortably at Chelmsford. There's likely to be little between them, especially with George Wood's claim taken into account but the selection gives the impression of being a typical Johnston improver. Dubai Acclaim is improving with racing and cannot be left out of calculations in receipt of useful weight from the aforementioned pair, whilst Our Man In Havana and Queen Of Kalahari are admirably consistent although their respective form figures suggest both could do with a little leniency from the assessor.
