    Verdict

A good race for the course to be staging at this time of year and one that sees each of the field holding decent claims on the pick of their form. Shingles comes here at the top of his game and his confidence will be sky-high after winning at Southwell last time out. However, the combination of the drop back in trip and a 6lb penalty count against him today. Magenta Rising has plenty to prove after a dreadful display last time and it will take significant support from the market to sway the vote towards his chance. Therefore Ephesus and Dubai Tower look to be the two to concentrate on ¿ with the latter fancied to uphold the form of their recent meeting. Mark Johnston's runners are just beginning to hit form again and Dubai Tower fits a familiar profile and he can go on from here.
