Verdict

The Sadler's Wells filly Summer Serenade seemed not to handle the surface last time and may be best watched so preference is for Pinching, who is preferred to Bubbling Fun. The last mentioned has been a consistent performer on turf this season and has to be respected but lack of a previous run on the all-weather is of concern. Foolish Groom showed that his running here two starts ago was all wrong when close up behind Master Theo and is another to consider along with James Fanshawe's High Charter, who should improve for his debut effort. The vote though goes to Pinching. Henry Cecil's filly has shown enough on turf and in one start here to suggest that a race of this nature would be well within her compass and she is taken to give her handler a rare winner at a Wolverhampton evening meeting.
