    Verdict

Smokin Joe, Kew The Music and Charlottebutterfly look to be the leading players in the opener and the vote is given to Smokin Joe. The selection ran well when last seen out over this trip at Lingfield when third behind Mac's Talisman, and although he is probably better over a shorter trip, he should still be capable of getting his head in front at this level. Kew The Music rates the main danger as he is another that is entitled to plenty of respect in this company, but he is best over the minimum trip and although he is likely to run his race, the chances are he will find a couple too good. Charlottebutterfly won over this course and distance last time out so has to be on the shortlist. However, she had the race run to suit that day and her record of one win in 16 attempts makes her difficult to put forward with any confidence. Zhitomir ran well when second in that same race so is another to consider, but for the winner we return to Smokin Joe.
