Blythe Spirit is 7lbs higher than when scoring at Ripon last month and being unproven on the surface looks worth taking on with preference for Willheconquertoo, who gets the vote over Silent Storm. The last mentioned showed his best form when second at Southwell over this trip when last seen in August and has to be respected on his first start here. Borzoi Maestro, the sole three-year-old in the field, and Frankie Dettori's mount are others worthy of a mention. A market move for Bob's Buzz would be of interest but the Stuart Williams-trained gelding seems to be plenty high enough in the weights at present. Phrenologist has claims on the best of his form when with James Fanshawe but showed little first time up for Andrew Reid and is difficult to recommend with any confidence. The vote then goes to stablemate Willheconquertoo, who has slipped to a fair mark and returns to his favoured trip on sand having been running over further on the surface more recently.
