Verdict

Trainer Richard Fahey has his runners in great nick and he can claim another win here with OBE BRAVE, who is favoured at the weights and looks good enough to take it from Bazguy and Geoffdaw. The selection acts well over both this trip and 7f, and was a winner over the latter on fast ground at Brighton last time. He goes particularly well in claiming company and provided he handles the polytrack on his first try then he can make use of a good pitch to score. Bazguy has been in really good form of late, winning or finishing in the frame on all of his last five outings. Six furlongs and this surface suit, he is not badly off at the weights compared to if this were a handicap, and he should be on the premises. Geoffdaw won over this trip in 3-y-o handicaps at both Kempton and Lingfield in the late summer and was not disgraced last time. He too has the ability to go very well here. Westport also has conditions and trip to suit and cheekpieces may also help nudge him closer to the action, while Doubtful Sound is in good form without having won since May, but he is a consistent sort who would not be getting his nose in front out of turn. We'll take Obe Brave for today though.
