Verdict

A poor start to the card where we will take a chance on LIMELIGHT to have the edge, with Paddy Rielly and Sparkling Montjeu others short listed. The Sir Mark Prescott-trained selection has run with credit in defeat from this sort of mark, when runner up over shorter on a couple of occasions earlier in the campaign. The trainer has a great record with horses at this level, so with the blinkers applied for the first time we'll give the filly the tentative nod. Sparkling Montjeu has been tried at a range of trips from one to two miles this year and was about as close as she has got when third beaten less than two lengths at Yarmouth last time. She should have the stamina to go back up in trip here but may have to settle for the frame again. Paddy Rielly is just 1lb higher than when scoring on Southwell's fibresand last month and put up a decent effort last time. He handled the polytrack well enough that day at Kempton so provided he acts here he can go close. The Last Bottle is not beyond hope and acts well here, so Mark Brisbourne's gelding has a chance of some prize money again now stepped up in trip, while Eventide is lightly raced and open to improvement. Not a race to stake too much cash on and we hope to enjoy the Limelight.
