        Verdict

EVASIVE is preferred to George Rex whilst newcomers such as Anacreon, Stoic and the Barry Hills pair should be watched in the market. Sir Michael Stoute landed a division of the maiden last year and he has sound claims of doing so again with this son of Elusive Quality. The colt was only beaten by three quarters of a length on debut despite taking some time to get the hang of things and normal improvement should see him finish there or thereabouts. John Gosden and Barry Hills saddled the two horses that finished in front of the selection in that contest and it will be interesting to see how their newcomers fare in the market as a result. Stoic is another likely looking type on paper whilst George Rex is entitled to improve significantly on his debut effort that saw him finish ten lengths behind Huntdown at Newbury over six furlongs. That form is some way below the level achieved by Evasive who is preferred.
