In depth

Verdict

Good Samaritan probably has the best form of those to have raced previously but the chances are that this will go to one of the newcomers with Gold For Me preferred to Sea The Light. The selection represents the in-form stable of Martin Pipe and the likelihood is that the French bred gelding will know enough of what is required to make a winning debut. Henrietta Knight saddles two runners Portavo and Henry's Pride, with narrow preference for the latter of the two, a son of Old Vic. A market move for Oscar Park would be of interest, while the flat-bred Oscatello may find his stamina being tested and a bigger threat may come from Alan King's well-related Sea The Light. There is not much to go on for backers but Martin Pipe's Gold For Me hails from a stable in form and will be tough to beat.
