Verdict

A wide open beginning to proceedings, with marginal preference for GREEN EARTH ahead of Mountrath and Whieppa Snappa. Amanda Perrett has a decent strike rate here, and her colt showed improvement last time out to lose his maiden tag in nursery company. He'll benefit if there's a strong pace to the race. Previously he's only raced over seven furlongs, but this slight step up shouldn't be a problem and could be viewed as a positive, as he looks like he'll get further in time. Whieppa Snappa by contrast steps back down in trip; he's consistently placed but looks to have a race at this sort of level within his grasp. Expect him to be held up for a late charge. Mountrath is on the improve steadily, with a tongue strap previously bringing an upgrade in form, and now he gets first-time cheekpieces. Calm Storm and Cafe Greco also have first-time headgear. At a price Fire And Stone may have some appeal as he drops in grade for the first time, although he's yet to get involved at the business end. A trappy affair.
