Verdict

Four unbeaten runners put their credentials on the line here and they look the quartet to concentrate on with Caesar Beware preferred to Nightfall, Josh and Aastral Magic. Godolphin's Nightfall won a newcomers race at Ascot last month and has to be respected but it is impossible to know how good that form is as only one horse has come out of that race since and he was beaten in a Folkestone maiden. At the forecast odds he looks worth taking on. Josh did nothing wrong when making a winning debut in the soft at Haydock and holds an obvious chance but is an unknown quantity on today's going. The filly Aastral Magic has the benefit of having had two races but this looks tougher than the course and distance novice auction event she won last time. Dario Gee Gee and Doctor Hilary are beginning to look exposed, while Al Qudra does not look good enough so the vote goes to Caesar Beware. Henry Candy's gelding created a favourable impression when running out the impressive winner of a Chepstow maiden two months ago. An absence since is of little concern as the stable is more than capable of readying a horse after a lay off and he is taken to follow up.
